                               2009 Highlights

November

  • November 28th: NCQMA's Carolina Fall Nationals--Madeline qualified 5th fastest and finished 3rd in her Jr. Novice feature race.
  • November 14th: NCQMA's last Championship Series points race--Madeline qualified 2nd and finished 2nd in the A Main.
  • November 7th: Region 3 Race at NCQMA--Madeline qualified 2nd and finished 2nd in the Jr. Novice a Main.

October

  • October 17th: NCQMA's Championship Series--Madeline started on the pole, held the lead for the entire race, and finished in 1st place.

August

  • August 29th: NCQMA's Championship Series--Madeline finished 2nd in the Jr. Novice A Main.
  • August 15th: NCQMA's Championship Series--Madeline set fast time and a new track record at 7.70 seconds and went on to win the Jr. Novice A Main.
  • August 11th: NCQMA's Summer Series--Madeline finished 3rd in the Jr. Novice A Main and was very disappointed she didn't win. Through tears, she told her crew chief/engine builder father that he needed to make her car faster.

July

  • July 28th: NCQMA's Summer Series--Another feature win for Madeline in the Jr. Novice A Main.
  • July 18th: Eastern Grands in Huntsville, AL--Madeline enjoyed her first experience racing at the Grands. She passed cars, held her line, and finished in a respectable 3rd place.
  • July 7th: NCQMA's Summer Series--Madeline won the Jr. Novice A Main event.

June

  • June 30th: NCQMA's Summer Series--Madeline won the Jr. Novice A Main.
  • June 23rd: NCQMA's Summer Series--Madeline won the Jr. Novice A Main.
  • June 20th: NCQMA--Madeline qualified at her best time so far (8.0 seconds), set fast time, and went on to win the Jr. Novice A Main.
  • June 16th: NCQMA Summer Series--Madeline won the Jr. Novice A Main.
  • June 13th: NCQMA Region 3 Race--Madeline set fast time and set a new 2009 track record even though her handler-crew chief forgot to turn on the fuel. She then went on to win her first race and took the checkered flag for her victory lap. 

May

  • May 30th: NCQMA--Madeline qualified more than 2 seconds faster than her last qualifying attempt at NCQMA and went on to finish 2nd in the Jr. Novice A Main.
  • May 23rd: Huntsville QMA--Madeline enjoyed practicing at a different track and even started going a bit faster. She qualified 7th, but never got to race because we left Huntsville after dealing with intermittent rain for two days.
  • May 9th: Madeline qualified 4th in batch qualifying and finished 4th in the Jr. Novice A Main at NCQMA.

April

  • April 18th: Madeline raced her first-ever Jr. Novice race at NCQMA, just two days after she turned five.  She finished 4th in her heat race and went on to finish 3rd in the A Main Feature Event.
